CAMBRIDGE HARRIERS  EST. 1890

British Athletics Champs and World Team Trials

Alexander Stadium, Birmingham
Two Cambridge Harriers took part in the British Championships last weekend. The stand out performance came from Sophie Lewis- Ward who won a bronze medal in the 5000 metre race walk. This was a good result bearing in mind that her training has taken second place to her A levels. Her coach, Noel Carmody is pictured here adjudicating on the men's race walk which was won in a British record time by Tom Bosworth. Also in shot is one of Noel's charges from Bexley AC.

Caroline Ford won the right to take part in the 1500 metres after smashing the qualifying time in a series of PBs in May which resulted in her taking 10 seconds off her previous best. In a highly competitive field with a number of athletes with the world championship qualifying time it was not to be for Caroline. Nevertheless it was a great weekend and fantastic experience for her.
